The Planning & Transportation Commission unanimously adopted a resolution approving conditional use permit PCUP20250001 for Nono's Mexican Food, a restaurant proposed at 28662 Marguerite Parkway, Suite 201, seeking a type‑41 on‑sale beer and wine license to serve alcohol with food.
Associate planner Afshin Adapur told commissioners that Nono's would occupy about 1,646 square feet with an existing common outdoor dining area of roughly 234 square feet, separated from common areas by a 3.5‑foot railing and landscaping. Adapur said the ABC census tract currently shows 22 active on‑sale licenses and that this new license would bring that total to 23 but staff and the police captain did not foresee conditions detrimental to public welfare. "Nona's Mexican food restaurant will occupy 1,646 square feet, of tenant space and a portion of an existing common outdoor dining space area measuring about 234 square feet," Adapur said.
The applicant, owner Eva Belmont (represented by translator Sarah), told the commission the restaurant opened the day before without alcohol and had a successful first day. Commissioners asked whether the prior location had an alcohol license; the applicant and translator confirmed it did. After brief discussion and no public opposition, Commissioner Berton moved approval; the motion passed unanimously. The resolution includes standard training requirements for managers and servers and a condition that managers and servers be trained in handling food service and alcoholic beverages.
