"The reason for the amendments on those definitions and the addition of those definitions were to support the criminal use of a financial card or gift card," staff said. The ordinance also includes statutory updates and new definitions the city determined were previously missing from the code. Commissioners moved, seconded, and approved the ordinance by voice vote.
Adoption means the city's municipal code will reference the updated UPOC definitions and penalties as read into the record. The ordinance was approved during the meeting and will be included in the municipal code pending formal publication and indexing.
