Committee designates county grass-cutting as LOSB project, approves 0% MWBE goal

The chair explained EOC’s rationale: the county’s grass-cutting vendor pool is heavily LOSB and minority-owned and converting the work to LOSB increases the likelihood of full minority participation. “I think we have 60 vendors, on the overall county grass cutting. You know, those 60 vendors, I think something like 55 are, minority LOSB,” the chair said during the discussion.
Commissioners moved and seconded a motion that the project have a 0% MWBE goal and be handled as LOSB; roll-call votes recorded several ayes and the motion carried. Members said they want purchasing and EOC to coordinate the implementation details.
