Board approves new elementary teacher, custodian and volunteer coach

During new-business personnel actions after closed session on Oct. 15, the board approved multiple staffing items. The board voted 6-0 (with Board Member Kirk recused) to employ Alexis Roberts as an elementary classroom teacher (Grades 1–6) effective Jan. 1, 2025, contingent on completion of a fingerprint-based criminal background check and employment-history review. The motion was made by Packer and seconded by Menser.
The board then unanimously approved employment of John Webb as a district custodian, contingent on the same statutory fingerprint and employment-history checks. The board also approved Preston Launius as a volunteer assistant coach for junior-high boys basketball; the minutes record all votes as carried with no nays. The minutes do not include salary, stipend amounts, or the terms for the volunteer assignment.
