LCAP update: district cites gains in college-career readiness, EL progress and lower suspension rate

Assistant Principal Tori Martinez presented the annual update to the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), telling trustees that the district is not on a full-cycle revision this year but is submitting the annual update. She said the district's three goals remain the same (student achievement; culture and climate; educational partner engagement) and highlighted successes such as "college and career readiness" performance at green and increases in English learner progress and reduced suspension rates.
Martinez also described new metrics meant to provide more timely feedback, including percent of teachers completing a cycle of inquiry, percent of students in dual enrollment, and parent participation rates; she said chronic absenteeism remains an important cross-cutting metric. "As another reminder, we have 3 goals," Martinez said, and staff will return with local indicators and final LCAP materials for approval next week.
