The Sesser-Valier Community Unit School District No. 196 board adopted a tentative tax-levy resolution for 2024 at its Oct. 15 meeting. Board member Kirk moved to adopt the Resolution Regarding Estimated Amounts Necessary to be Levied for the Year 2024; Spence seconded the motion and the roll-call vote was unanimous (Garner, Kirk, Lance, Menser, Packer, Sample, Spence).
Superintendent J. Henry had provided the board with levy materials and urged use of five guiding principles when setting the levy, including that the levy is based on projected property values and that each year's levy affects future levies. The superintendent's packet also included a chart packet and presentation packet for board review. The minutes record no further amendment or final, post-adoption changes to the tentative resolution at that meeting.
