Road Foreman Jason Hitchcock told the Selectboard the department’s 2022 International truck has experienced repeated problems, including corrosion, electrical failures, wiring deterioration and brake concerns. The vehicle is out of warranty; Hitchcock will obtain repair estimates, evaluate rewiring versus replacement, and gather trade-in value estimates.
Separately, the board reviewed a severely obstructed culvert on Piper Hill that appears to have frost-heaved and shifted uphill. Members discussed replacing the existing 18-inch pipe with a 24-inch pipe and salvaging any usable material from the current installation.
