At its Aug. 12 meeting the Sesser-Valier Community Unit School District No. 196 Board of Education approved a consolidated consent agenda that included minutes from July 8 meetings, the Treasurer’s report, payment of bills totaling $544,917.29 and salaries totaling $350,236.78, adoption of a certification of transportation safety hazard resolution, and final approval of revised board policies. The board also approved the display of the tentative Fiscal Year 2025 budget and set a public budget hearing for Sept. 16, 2024 at 5:55 PM.
The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Board Member Lance and seconded by Board Member Spence; the board voted unanimously (Garner, Kirk, Lance, Sample and Spence — 5 yeas, 0 nays). Superintendent J. Henry had listed the budget display and scheduling of the hearing as items on the consent agenda during his report. The board did not remove any items from the consent agenda for separate discussion.
