Advocates prepare for General Assembly push on rates, Medicaid Works and guardianship voting rights

Lucy said advocates are also pursuing a permanent solution to the problem of people who lose waiver eligibility when they receive SSDI after a parent dies, rather than a temporary extension, and that the blue envelope program (a new Virginia law allowing drivers with disabilities to self‑identify to first responders) may be expanded beyond autism to cross‑disability use. She closed by noting upcoming trainings and a Medicaid appeals webinar run with Virginia Poverty Law Center.
