A second award of $82,307 will help Hazel Park convert a storage room into a fitness studio to house a "Viking Strong 55+" program, leveraging about $15,000 in city matching funds and recent facility upgrades funded by ARPA and county parks funds. Finally, Royal Oak Township will receive $30,000 to replace a pavilion discovered to be damaged during construction, supporting a larger Civic Center Park transformation tied to a $1,000,000 Michigan DNR SPARK grant. Commissioners praised the investments and the committee approved all three grants unanimously.
