Chamber reports Hy-Vee, Fairway and local groups stepping up food assistance during shutdown

"Fairway is gonna match, the value of those donations," the presenter said. The representative also noted that Harlem Social Energy and Nutrition has opened a food pantry open to the public, that the local newspaper will contribute subscription proceeds to support West Central Community Action, and that SCCO Heroes Attic is offering a promotion (bring six cans of food and receive a discount). Volunteers were invited to help put up Courthouse Square Christmas lights on a weekend morning.
The chamber encouraged residents to donate food, contribute online subscriptions or volunteer time to support local food access through the end of November.
