County roads report: M-16 paving finished; guardrail and bridge work next

Chris Frederickson, the county's secondary roads presenter, told the board that asphalt paving on M-16 was finished as of last Sunday and crews are working on intersections, driveways and shoulder rock placement; they expect to complete line painting after guardrail installation and aim to reopen the route in two to three weeks if weather allows.
"As of a week ago, Sunday, all the asphalt has been laid," Frederickson said. He added that bridge approaches were reworked to accept guardrail and that guardrail installation is scheduled for next week. Frederickson also described a damaged guardrail at the Linden/Linden-2200th area that requires a special-order curved set of parts likely not available until spring, meaning barricades will remain in place through winter unless the supplier has spare stock.
Frederickson described a planned structural replacement on Woodland north of 200th: the current bridge will be removed and replaced with a culvert/pipe structure (described in the meeting as a "barrel tank car shell" to form the new pipe). County staff said they will pause work for the winter and resume when conditions allow.
