Commission endorses study of state housing board and pushes accessible housing linked to transportation

Chair Karen Odon said the suggestion came from the county legislative analyst and noted the tri‑part interest among housing, accessibility and environmental groups. Commissioner Marilyn McAllis expressed long‑standing commitment to updating codes so that new residential construction includes accessible features. "I would love to see the construction code change... so people can properly access inside of any residential facility," she said.
The motion to adopt the recommendation passed; the chair will coordinate language for the county submission.
