Public Works facility remains on schedule for August 2025 despite material backorder

City staff reported construction progress at the new Public Works facility: an average of about 15 workers onsite each day, interior mezzanine steel in place, trench drains in wash and main bays, and concrete poured for curb, gutter and building aprons. Staff said there have been no safety incidents and that the project remains on schedule targeting completion in August 2025.
Mayor Rod Westbroek noted the selected brick has been back-ordered and that staff need to select another brick color or supplier. Councilman Wayne Winsor raised concern about black poles and a ladder at the soccer complex and about netting that still does not cover the entire area; City Manager David Larson said the landscaping plan has been reviewed and will be low-maintenance and that Parks Director Chay Olson will follow up on tree removal and irrigation plans.
