Sheriff's office reports neighborhood speeding; council asks for more patrols

Elizabeth Pinto of the Davis County Sheriff’s Office reported patrol hours, field-initiated incidents, dispatch calls and victim services in the quarterly presentation to the council. Councilman Wayne Winsor raised concerns about speeding on collector streets and identified specific streets (Deer Run Drive, 2100 East, 7800 S, View Drive, 475 East) where pedestrian activity is frequent.
Lieutenant Boucher advised residents to "contact DCSO as quickly as they are able so they can be immediately addressed." Councilman Joel Dills said summer months increase the presence of children on bikes and motorized vehicles and requested additional patrolling in neighborhoods.
