Council recognizes local artists and KidWind teams, celebrates student championship

Council honored local artists participating in a town hall exhibit and congratulated five Makersmith KidWind teams for regional/state successes, including a middle school team that won the KidWind World Championship in Madison.
The council recognized artists whose work is on display in Town Hall as part of the 250th anniversary celebrations and announced winners of the Percival Music and Arts Festival in four categories. The mayor read the names of individual artists and thanked sponsors for the contest.
Council also recognized five KidWind Makersmith teams sponsored by Makersmith Incorporated (a non‑profit makerspace) that won awards at the March 17 Northern Virginia Regional KidWind Challenge and the KidWind Virginia State Challenge. Staff and council congratulated the teams and coaches; one middle school team that competed in Madison, Wisconsin, was announced as the KidWind Middle School World Champion.
