Wilton Select Board hears waterline update; project expected to finish by November

Jim Ward gave the board a progress update on Wilton's waterline replacement, saying contractors Pratt and Sons began work in April 2025 and, as of May, had completed about 14,000 feet of new water main and connected customers on Doak Street and Weld Road. Ward said crews completed testing and disinfection of the finished transmission main from the treatment plant to Doak Street and had cleaned up much of the right-of-way.
"They're anticipating being fully complete sometime in November," Ward said, describing the current schedule and noting contractors have returned to work after a winter shutdown. Ward outlined remaining tasks including installing the back-pressure sustaining valve building, adding pumps at the treatment plant, finishing a short section of raw-water line and completing site restoration and paving. The work affects customers on Apple Gate Lane, Orchard Road and North Pond Road, and Ward said the town and contractor are planning paving and loaming work to follow pipe installation.
