Pirate Foundation planning community mailer to highlight campus needs and grants

Mark Hertzel spoke for the Pirate Foundation during the public-comment period and said the group plans a community mailer to update the public about teacher grants, donations and campus needs. He said the foundation would meet with district staff to identify priority projects and hoped to draw additional community donations.
"We're about ready to do a community mailer," Hertzel said, and noted prior generosity from local foundations including the Gainey Family Foundation. He asked board members to share project ideas the foundation could promote to potential donors.
