Tewksbury schools report annual library collection review and removal list

Assistant Superintendent Jason Stamp told the committee that, under district policy IJL‑R, professional library staff conduct an annual review of the collection and remove items that are damaged, outdated, or no longer useful. Stamp said the list of removed items is included in the digital packet and that administrators will keep the memorandum on the school committee agenda annually.
"Tewksbury Public Schools conducts an annual review of its library collections to ensure materials remain accurate, current, and relevant to the curriculum," Stamp said. Committee members asked about the physical disposition of removed items; Stamp explained that usable materials are offered first to students and teachers, then considered for donation or proper disposal at the end of the school year.
