The Santa Monica‑Malibu Unified School District board recognized three Malibu High School seniors for National Merit commendation on Feb. 5.
A school representative called the students to the dais and each spoke briefly. Zoe Retz, identifying herself as a 12th grader, said she intends to study environmental sciences in California; Aiden Colburn said he is considering environmental sciences on the East Coast or California; and Tanner Keyes said he plans to study business, likely in the South.
Board members applauded and thanked the students for their academic achievement.
