Sandpoint seeks 100% RV‑park design and $950,000 state grant funds for City Beach improvements

Welker said the design team (HMH Engineering and MTLA Landscape Architecture) is finalizing a layout that would likely reduce the current 22–23 sites to about 18, add stormwater landscaping and improve circulation so boat trailers and vehicles are separated. He said the team aims to finish a 100% design by October so construction can proceed this fall and winter.
Committee members discussed amenities (restroom location, EV charging, tent and bike-only camping), the potential to incorporate solar lighting or onsite solar charging for RVs and bikes, and an initial restroom-engineering cost estimate that staff had placed near $500,000. Staff will bring refined concepts and grant-seeking priorities at future meetings.
