City staff (Scott) recommended awarding a construction contract and related purchase order to Micron Construction Incorporated for the Cracero Park Play Area Rehabilitation project in a not-to-exceed amount of $916,113, and asked the council to adopt a resolution to amend the project budget to include $170,899.99 in water-conservation grant funds from the Metropolitan Water District.
Staff said they followed purchasing procedures, sold 14 sets of plans, held a mandatory pre-bid meeting attended by 12 contracting firms, received four bids, and identified Micron Construction as the lowest responsive bidder. "We're recommending awarding a contract for construction and a purchase order to MyCon Construction Incorporated, in an amount not to exceed $916,113 and adopt a resolution amending Cracero Park Play Area budget with water conservation grant funds of $170,899.99 from the Metropolitan Water District," the staff report said.
Council member Kelly praised the team and specifically thanked staff who secured the grant. The council moved, seconded and approved the contract and budget amendment by a unanimous vocal vote.
