On April 24, 2026, the Town of Newbury Selectboard held a special meeting and toured the Town Highway Garage; members concluded the structure should be replaced after an interior inspection led by Highway Foreman Mike Hastings.
The special meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m. by Selectboard Chair Susan Culp, and the board inspected the garage interior after vehicles and equipment were moved out so members could evaluate the building's size and condition. At 1:25 p.m. the group reconvened in the garage office and "reiterated the need for developing an immediate plan" both for replacing the salt shed and for finalizing plans to replace the garage. The board adjourned at 1:55 p.m.
