Superintendent cites potential oil-and-gas lease and small cell-tower lease as possible revenue sources
Summary
Administration told the board there are offers on a roughly 633-acre parcel that could produce lease revenue if drilling occurs and that an EIP Holdings lease for the old Goldeneye School would expand cell coverage and provide modest monthly income to the Goldana community; both items require further state and board review.

Superintendent Deloy reported an offer from a natural-gas company to lease a roughly 633-acre district property (described by section/township in the presentation) and said the district’s representative, Mister Stamey, has been pursuing negotiations. Deloy cautioned the lease must be reviewed by the Office of Mineral Resources and the Louisiana State Mineral and Energy Board before the district can finalize any agreement.
Deloy said the lease could create an influx of revenue to the district and potentially a continuous revenue stream if drilling occurs, but he emphasized the board would not rely on speculative drilling income until state review and a formal board vote. Separately, he described a small lease with EIP Holdings for the old Goldeneye School to expand cell coverage and provide a modest monthly payment to the Goldana community; he said the lease is small and will not require district funding.
