District says it's close to full staffing; seeks paraprofessionals and a few teachers before term starts

Board members pressed for clarity about coverage for special-needs students and whether vacancies were concentrated at particular schools. Ramona said the district still needs to fill paraprofessional roles at Weaver and LP Vaughn and a social-studies spot at Natchitoches Junior High, but that she had candidates in process and was confident the positions would be filled promptly.
Ramona also thanked district staff and an intern for support during a busy hiring period and said the HR office is nearly at a 100% staffing level for the coming term.
