Hutto EDC approves $34,998,328 amendment to fund Brushy Creek interceptor Phase 4

The Hutto Economic Development Corporation voted to approve a budget amendment totaling $34,998,328 to fund the EDC's contract with McKee Contractors for the Brushy Creek wastewater interceptor Phase 4.
"This budget proposed budget amendment tonight is, a net effect of 0. It would be amending the budget for $34,998,328 from the city, to fund the EDC's contract, with McKee contractors for the Brushy Creek, interceptor phase 4," Christina Bishop, assistant finance director, told the board. Bishop said the amendment is essentially a housekeeping transfer and that, if passed, it will go to City Council on Feb. 19.
The motion to approve the amendment passed on a 6-0 roll call. Bishop also reminded the board that the EDC made a semiannual interest payment on the 2018 bonds at the end of January; those bonds financed the mega-site land and are scheduled to be paid off in 2048.
