Parental-involvement policy to add annual diabetes information requirement

Staff told the committee that Policy 6-08, which governs parental involvement, should be revised to include an annual disclosure about Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in response to a state law amendment (transcript citation: General Statute 115C-375.3 as cited). The proposed revision would add the diabetes disclosure to the district’s set of mandatory parent notices and staff said they are prepared to meet the requirement for the academic year.
Committee members asked no questions during the first-review presentation. Staff indicated the edits were made in communication with necessary district staff and stakeholders.
