Staff presented Policy 5-16 for a second review and said the proposed addition would ensure field trips connected to summer-camp or after-school programs—where no curricular attachment exists—still comply with district policy. “The proposed added to this policy allows us to address field trips that happen in the context of summer camp or after school programs that may not need a curricular attachment to it, but yet we still want to ensure they are complying with all district policies,” the staff member said.
Staff reported no stakeholder feedback since the policy's prior review and recommended it be included on the consent agenda at the full-board meeting. After brief questions, the committee moved and approved sending Policy 5-16 to the consent agenda by voice vote.
