The Weld County Board of County Commissioners approved two temporary road closures requested by Public Works.
Amy Meche of Public Works said Bridge 4970A on County Road 49 required raising of the superstructure; staff requested an extension of the closure from Aug. 14 to Aug. 28 so the work could be completed. The board approved the extension.
Meche also said Garner Construction and the City of Thornton requested a closure of County Road 80 between County Road 13 and State Highway 257 from Aug. 10–28 to install a 42‑inch waterline. Commissioners confirmed the installation will be by open cut and that detours are paved using state highways; the board approved the closure.
Staff said there are no changes to detour routing for the CR49 work and offered to answer follow‑up questions about logistics.
