Olympic High School honored as California model continuation school; site update provided

Cynthia McGregory, principal of Olympic High School, told the board that the California model continuation designation recognizes Olympic’s work on identity, belonging, and college access through dual‑enrollment with Santa Monica College.
McGregory said the off‑campus learning center and Olympic have recently transitioned back to a district site and reported a 13% increase in average daily attendance, growth in adult education (13 newly naturalized U.S. citizens and three recent diploma completions), and a school implementation plan focused on writing, social‑emotional learning and project‑based learning. She said facility upgrades will begin over the summer and the school expects to move into the Obama Center for the 2026–27 year.
Board members and the superintendent thanked McGregory and several audience members offered public recognition for the school’s work.
