Town Manager Caleb Patterson told the board that the federal Protect grant the town expected for its bridge project is currently paused while federal programs are reviewed, and staff will pursue other grant options in the near term.
"For those listening, the Protect grant was a, you know, $8,000,000 project for our bridge down here," Patterson said, explaining why the town is applying for alternative grants and engineering funds. Patterson also discussed a DOLA "Ready" grant application for roughly $100,000 that requires a 20% match; he said he applied to the Kirkpatrick Family Fund for $15,000 to reduce the town's match to about $5,000 if approved.
