The Dearborn County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 4 appointed six people to the county's citizens review committee after reviewing 26 applications.
Sue, who led the committee review, told the board that two applications were set aside for possible conflicts of interest (Sandy Whitehead and Ken Gunkel) and that commissioners had scored the remaining applicants on a 1-to-25 scale. "So under the pro applicant, we have Zach Scholl. We have Eric Taqman," she stated while reading the results aloud. She said she used Kevin's spreadsheet and averaged scores to resolve very close totals.
A county commissioner moved to appoint the six applicants Sue named; the chair seconded and the motion carried by voice vote. Sue said county staff will contact the next people on the list if any appointed member cannot fulfill the commitment.
The item arose under old business; commissioners did not record individual roll-call votes in the transcript. The board also thanked applicants publicly for their participation and noted the applicants represented a diverse set of backgrounds.
