O'Brien County trustees advance Drainage District 4 review after landowner objections

Board Chair Barbara Rohwer opened a hearing June 24 on proposed improvements to Drainage District 4 and asked Bolton & Menk drainage engineer Tyler Conley to present options for increasing the district's drainage capacity.
Conley told the trustees the district's current drainage coefficient is 0.15 inch per day and presented three upgrade options: a ½-inch/day system (estimated $2,816,000), a ¾-inch/day system (estimated $3,306,000) and a 1-inch/day system (estimated $3,872,000). "The district currently has a drainage coeƯicient of .15 inch that can be drained in a day," Conley said, and later added that the proposed project is designed for "a 2 year 48 hour storm event."
