Shorewood reports new hires, police academy progress and fall events at Oct. 8 meeting

Police also reported that the village's National Night Out event raised more than $1,200 for Special Olympics Illinois. Public Works noted the seasonal leaf-pickup program begins next week.
The administrator reported staffing moves including filling a part-time parks vacancy and progress on hiring a police clerk; the village continues to recruit for a licensed water operator. Trustees thanked staff for work on recent agenda items and staffing progress.
