The board approved a contract to ArborTech Services on Oct. 8 for the village's annual tree-pruning program, authorizing payment not to exceed $35,000 and waiving the formal bid process.
Public Works staff said ArborTech has performed the village's trimming program for over a decade and is holding last year's price. Staff estimated the amount would cover approximately 686 trees this winter. Trustees moved to approve the proposal and the board recorded roll-call votes in favor.
The contract award will allow crews to schedule winter pruning work; staff noted the budgeted amount is available for the program and that the contractor has local experience with the village's trees.
