DPW Supervisor Eric Johnson reported the county's brokered gas-energy contracts previously saved money but are not currently yielding savings; with the Dillon Energy contract expired the county falls back to DTE. Johnson said he will continue to monitor bills and bring recommendations to the Committee.
Chair Fisher nominated Johnson to fill the Materials Management Program (MMP) vacancy (Whiteford) and the Committee agreed by consensus to approve the appointment. The Committee also raised concerns about illegal dumping at the recycling site, asked DPW to explore signage/camera upgrades and noted those upgrades could be expensed from MMP funds.
