Equalization Director Megan Daniels asked the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners Committee of the Whole to approve the 2026 L-4029 form so the county can collect its operational millage, which Daniels noted could be 6 mills if approved by the Tax Allocation Board. The Committee reached consensus to place the L-4029 approval on the May 20, 2026 Regular Meeting agenda with no opposition.
Daniels framed the request as necessary "for ability to collect the operational millage (noted 6 mill if approved by the Tax Allocation Board) from the tax payers, noting this supports the County’s funds to operate." The Board did not debate alternatives at length and recorded the item for action at the next regular meeting.
