General Services commissioner says he will research questions about 'The Boring Company' lease

Andy Kidd, the newly sworn-in commissioner of the Tennessee Department of General Services, told the committee he concurs with two audit observations and is addressing them. When Senator Oliver asked about a past request to the State Building Commission concerning a lease to The Boring Company and use of public land for a proposed tunnel on Murfreesboro Pike, Kidd said he would gather information and follow up.
"So I will say I was just sworn in on January 15, and so I'm a little new to this position. So if it's okay, I'm gonna get some more information and get back to you on that," Kidd said in response to the senator's questions about a no-bid arrangement and public-land use. The committee advanced the Department of General Services' sunset extension after the exchange.
