Chair recognized the sponsor on Senate Bill 15-15, a four-year extension for the Department of Education through June 30, 2030; the bill follows prior subcommittee action. Commissioner Lizette Reynolds and department staff appeared and summarized the department's audit status.
"We went through our audit, and it was clean except for 1 IT item, which also needed to be held confidentially," Reynolds said, describing earlier, separate handling with the Information Security Council. After brief questions were waived, the committee voted and the secretary recorded nine ayes; SB 15-15 moves on with a positive, four-year recommendation.
