Village approves $4.497 million contract for 2-mile water transmission main

Trustees approved a contract award for the Water Transmission Main project to the low responsible bidder for $4,497,617. Public Works described the project as part of the alternate-source water program and said the transmission main would run roughly two miles to the Walnut Trails water tower.
Public Works staff said seven bids were received and that the low bid was about 32% below the engineer's estimate; the village plans to include the project in its FY26 budget. ``This project includes construction of the 16 inch water main from our new pumping station all the way up to our Walnut Trail's water tower. It's approximately 2 miles of new pipe transmission main that would be constructed,'' Public Works Director Nuria said.
Trustees approved the award and authorized execution of the contract; staff said construction should begin in spring and be completed in one construction season.
