Shorewood adopts 2024 tax levy of $2.19 million

The Shorewood Village Board voted unanimously on Dec. 10 to adopt the 2024 tax levy ordinance, with finance staff presenting it as a second reading and recommending adoption.
"The total proposed levy is $2,190,188.75," finance staff said during the presentation, explaining the levy is designed to capture some equalized assessed value growth while holding the final tax rate steady. Staff noted the village will receive its official EAV from the county in March and will have the opportunity to reduce the levy if necessary once the county returns the final rate.
Trustees made and seconded the motion for adoption and approved the ordinance by roll call.
