New board member sworn in as district approves committee assignments and recording secretary

At its Aug. 21 meeting Shirland School District No. 134 swore in a new board member, approved committee assignments, and appointed Karly Scarpetta as recording secretary.
President Stout called the Shirland School District No. 134 Board of Education to order Aug. 21 and the board began its business by swearing in a newly appointed member; Mrs. Rhyner stated the oath on the record. Superintendent Midgett then reviewed committee assignments for board oversight and governance, and the board approved the committee roster by roll-call vote.
The board also voted to appoint Karly Scarpetta as the district's new recording secretary. The appointment was moved and seconded and passed on a roll call of "all ayes." The board noted the appointment immediately on the record and included it among the meeting's formal actions.
