The Village of Sheffield board approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Buda governing shared policing resources.
Under Resolution R2024-11-12-01, Buda would hire Officer Landon Horrie, Horrie would be able to rotate between Sheffield and Buda squad cars, and Horrie would submit a timesheet to Sheffield for payroll processing each pay period. Officer Landon Horrie "did not have any issues with the presented IGA," according to the meeting minutes. Trustee Yepsen moved to approve the resolution, DeVoss seconded, and a roll call yielded a unanimous 6-0 vote in favor.
The agreement is intended to formalize staffing and payroll procedures between the two villages and to allow shared use of patrol vehicles. No additional implementation timeline or financial terms beyond payroll processing were specified in the minutes; trustees approved the resolution and the IGA will be carried out per its terms.
