Lisa presented an analysis grouping complaints into driving violations, body-worn camera issues and conduct toward the public, and said earlier policy clarifications and ACC recommendations led to fewer chargeable driving incidents.
"We've had 1 body worn camera violation this year and no driving violations," Lisa said, explaining the body-worn-camera complaints were higher early in oversight but have since declined, which she attributed to training and officers becoming familiar with the technology. Chair and ACC members said the ACC recommended sheriff's office retraining and cited a memo from Major Canning to officers.
Board members asked the sheriff's office to provide more specific policy citations where possible so the trending subcommittee can better categorize violations going forward.
