Board adopts 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan after FEMA Region 5 approval

The Nobles County Board voted to adopt the county’s 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan after staff reported that FEMA Region 5 approved the plan on Jan. 20, 2026. Adoption by the county and by municipalities within the county is required for eligibility for future mitigation funding.
Commissioner Justin Ahlers moved to adopt the plan and Commissioner Bob Paplow seconded the motion; the resolution passed. The board noted that local adoption completes the county-level requirement for federal mitigation grant eligibility.
