At its Feb. 12 meeting the Huachuca City Council approved the Consent Agenda, adopted Ordinances 2026-01, 2026-02, and 2026-04 on second reading, directed staff to develop ADOT TAP proposals, began the CDBG application process and scheduled a March 21 public hearing, and adjourned.
The Huachuca City Council approved the Consent Agenda (minutes of Jan. 22 and Jan. 29 work session) by unanimous motion. The council adopted three ordinances on second reading: 2026-01 (repeal of fee for criminal background checks before firearm transfers), 2026-02 (amendments to minors’ firearms exceptions), and 2026-04 (amendments to Title 6 — Animals). All ordinance adoptions were recorded as passed by unanimous motion.
Council also directed staff to develop project proposals for the ADOT Transportation Alternatives Program (motion moved by Johann Wallace, seconded by Christy Hirshberg) and began the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application process, including scheduling a public hearing for March 21, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Activity Center; buses were to be made available for residents needing transportation. The meeting adjourned by unanimous motion; roll call shows six members present and one absent.
