The O’Brien County Board of Supervisors voted Sept. 23 to approve three resolutions authorizing the county to enter settlement agreements related to opioid litigation. Resolution No. 2025-33 authorizes agreements with Sandoz; Resolution No. 2025-34 approves settlements with listed secondary manufacturers (Alvogen Inc.; Apotex Corp.; Amneal Pharmaceuticals LLC; Hikma Pharmaceuticals USA Inc.; Indivior Inc.; Viatris Inc. (Mylan); Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Inc.; Zydus Pharmaceuticals (USA) Inc.); and Resolution No. 2025-35 approves settlement agreements with numerous Purdue-related entities and affiliates as enumerated in the minutes.
Each resolution was moved and carried by all ayes, per the minutes; the record does not show individual vote tallies or settlement amounts in the board minutes. The resolutions authorize O’Brien County’s participation in the county-level settlement framework against certain manufacturers, distributors and retailers of opioid pharmaceuticals and instruct county officials to finalize agreements according to the adopted resolutions.
