Courtney Mori, a resident who said she is military and recently moved to Castle Hills, used her three minutes during public comment to criticize the current sanitation service levels and propose scaled‑back pickups.
"I feel like the city could probably, scale back and maybe just have once a week pickup for trash and then maybe alternate weeks for brush and yard," Mori said, adding that her family of four does not generate the volume the city’s pickup schedule assumes.
Councilors did not take action on the sanitation schedule during the workshop; staff told Mori that the city manager’s office could follow up with her for more details. The concern will be available to staff for consideration during budget adjustments ahead of the proposed budget presentation next week.
