County Administrator and CFO Patrick Whiteford reported on an erosion event at Rugg Pond discovered April 5, 2026. Whiteford said EGLE recommended filling the erosion area with stone and that Matts Underground was notified to assist; Whiteford added Rugg Pond has been temporarily closed pending repair and that EGLE will schedule an inspection because the 2025 inspection was not performed.
Whiteford told the Committee he, Commissioner Baldwin and an EGLE representative had visited the site and began immediate steps to address the erosion. The Board moved related administrative actions — including waiving a $50 Equalization fee to provide requested section data to Interfluve for the Rugg Pond dam project — to the April 15 regular meeting.
