Mayor Jamie Eiffler opened a public hearing on April 6 to consider amendments to the city code for parking limits and fines; no public comments were offered. Council adopted Ordinance #2026-04OR to add a twenty-minute parking limit at 423 Main Street and Ordinance #2026-05OR to increase the parking violation fine to $50.
Councilmember Johnson moved to give both ordinances their first consideration and to adopt them; the statutory rule requiring two readings was later suspended and the ordinances were put on final consideration and adoption by unanimous roll call votes. The council recorded the votes as all ayes (5–0).
The ordinances change the code by adding a specific 20-minute parking restriction at the single listed address and increasing the penalty for parking violations to $50. The effective dates follow the ordinance enactment after publication.
